Arenanet House WIP

This is the most recent version I have of the Arenanet house that I have. Still some small things I am working on, but I think I am almost done.

Cali

Joel and I went to Cirque Du Soleil yesterday. There was a lizard man in the show, and I think one of my favorite parts was at the beginning of the show, when the lizard man was climbing around above the audience and throwing popcorn at them.

This is just some practice, Joel was showing me some different painting techniques. I did this based off of one of the pictures in the program we got.

Also some life drawing, for kicks. Dat Back.

The House

Thought I would post a little work in progress I have been playing around with. Even though it isn't going anymore, I decided to take a stab at the Arenanet environment art test. So far I need to add the dirt texture and plants. Then go back and break up the geometry a little to make it less rigid. Then I need to work on normal and spec maps. I may also go back and fix some things in the diffuse. For instance the rock texture isn't quite doing it for me.

Also, I did my best to make it modular. The idea was to make a lot of the pieces separate so that I can move them around like building blocks and make other structures. We did something similar for the houses on Salvage Youth and I thought it would be fun to try and apply the idea to this model.

So Moldy

So I have not had too much time to work on this project, but here is some sprites. First one is Moldy's sheet so far, mold bullets, and the last one is a bad guy, Moldy's brother.

The Times

So I have been doing a little life drawing for the last couple of weeks. Thought I would put some of that up.

 

Also, Joel bought a white board recently, and every morning one of us draws a shape on it. At some point during the day the other person will add to it and draw a picture with the shape. With this last one I did some kind of weird priestess/temple woman and Joel said I should post it.

For Whom the Bread Molds

 Hello all. I have been neglecting my blog recently. Not that I wanted to, but work as been keeping me pretty busy. Unfortunately my job hasn't been productive for me artistically, but luckily a friend from work asked if I could do some art things for his game that he and another friend are working on as a side project. It's about a moldy piece of bread.

I have never really done sprite based ... anything before so it has been fun and interesting doing something a bit new from what I would normally do.


Anyway, proof that I am alive. Also I felt like painting made up plants.. so I did. Not sure why, but I did. That was also fun and relaxing for some reason. Just painted them real quick like 30 mins.

Also the first one isn't made up, ferns are real things.
